Pickering Real Estate Statistics August 2015

Real Estate Broker Scott Hanton loves living and working in Pickering. After years of outstanding experience and award-winning service all over the GTA, it’s wonderful to be working with more and more real estate buyers and sellers in Durham Region.

Here are just a couple of recent sales in Durham Region (sold for record prices!):

The Weir Team is clearly bringing a much higher standard of real estate to Pickering, Ajax and Whitby. And the media loves us too:

Toronto Star – 50 Portelli

Toronto Star – 30 Chatfield

The following are real estate numbers from the first half of August 2015 in all of Pickering, Ontario.

What a difference a year makes for real estate in the Durham Region.

The Weir Team witnessed a slowdown in GTA real estate this summer and a look at the numbers confirms that the first half of August was much slower across the GTA for house sellers and house buyers.

According to the Toronto Real Estate Board’s MLS system, from August 1, 2015 through to August 16, 2015, here are the real estate sales that occurred in all of Pickering:

Only 32 freehold houses were sold (versus 38 for the same period one year ago in 2014). Not much of a difference… but there is a major jump when it comes to selling prices in Pickering.

The average list price so far this month was $617,297 (versus $463,063 for the same period in 2014). Only an average of 17 days on market were needed this year versus the 16 days for the same period last year.

The average selling price this increasingly popular area east of the Rough River was $626,953 versus $463,916 in 2014. That is a very significant increase for this period, just one year later for Pickering Real Estate.

For the first half of August 2015, in Pickering, 25 houses sold were detached and 1 house was semi-detached. Only 5 were bungalows.

The most active neighbourhood the past couple of weeks was the beautiful Amberlea area.

The Weir Team continues to be very active all across GTA real estate zones. We thank the hundreds of people who came out to our open houses the past few weeks and we appreciate being the number one choice for more and more real estate buyers and house sellers. We look forward to being of excellent service for the remainder of the summer and into what we predict will be a busy Autumn for real estate in Toronto and well into Durham Region.
