The typically slower month of November saw many successful house sales for those selling a house in Whitby and buying a house in Whitby, Ontario. Top Whitby realtors witnessed 133 freehold houses sold in November as reported on the Toronto Real Estate Board’s MLS system.

The most expensive house sold in Whitby was for $1,725,000 on Calistoga Drive.

Preservation Place in Whitby saw the second most expensive selling price in the month of November with a sale price of $1,390,000 followed by a sale price of $1,375,000 on Sunny Rose Court in Whitby for a 2 storey, 4 bedroom, 5 bathroom detached house.

Other valuable properties for sale in Whitby were found on Lyndeview Drive, Branthaven Court, Lyndebrook Road, Wilson House Drive, Centre Street West and Nettles Court.

Some of the best Whitby real estate agents saw that the least expensive houses sold were found on Palmerston Avenue, Wallace Drive, Dovedale Drive, Hyland Street, Robideau Place, Renfield Crescent, Fulton Crescent, Stokely Crescent, Creekwood Crescent, Greenfield Crescent, Melissa Crescent, Hubble Drive, Telegraph Drive, Athol Street, Woodstone Place, Byron Street North, Bourbon Place, Zachary Place, Playfair Road, St. Thomas Street and Atlantis Drive. All of these houses for sale in Whitby sold for less than $400,000. There are still lots of choices for buyers looking for houses for sale for under $400,000 in the Greater Toronto Area and across Durham Region.

The average selling price of a house in Whitby during the month of November was $518,736. Somewhat less than houses sold in Pickering and houses sold in Ajax. Most houses were detached, 2 storeys and had 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. The average time it took to sell a house in Whitby was only 17 days versus a bit longer in Pickering which was 22 days on the market during the same time period.

Interestingly, the Whitby real estate market saw a bit busier November than in 2014 where there were only 127 reported sales. More importantly for those living, buying and investing in Whitby, property values in Whitby rose significantly. Versus one year ago where the average house price sold in Whitby was $442,490, 2015 saw a $76,246 average increase in property values in one year. Very good news for homeowners thinking of selling a house in Whitby.

Real estate sales in Whitby were most active in the neighbourhood of Brooklin, followed by Blue Grass Meadows, Rolling Acres, Pringle Creek, Lynde Creek, Port Whitby, Downtown Whitby and Taunton North.

Durham Region real estate agents saw that some of the busier streets for real estate transactions in Whitby during the month of November 2015 were Beaumaris Crescent, Byron St North, Deverell Street, Dovedale Drive, Harbourside Drive, King Street, Muir Crescent, Oceanpearl Crescent, Presley Crescent, Stokely Crescent, Tunney Place and William Stephenson Drive.
